One of my favourite lines of all time is SkinCeuticals. Why you might ask? The answer is simple. They have products to combat all sorts of skin problems and conditions such as: hyperpigmentation, acne, rosacea, fine lines, wrinkles and even skin cancers caused by ultraviolet (UV) rays. One of my favourite products is the Phyto Corrective Gel that contains botanical extracts with anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties to help soothe and calm irritated skin. This product is popular with our rosacea patients due to the fact that is calms down the redness in their skin. The Phyto Corrective Gel is one of the biggest sellers at Toronto Dermatology Centre.

It is not a secret that SkinCeuticals carries one of the best Vitamin C serums ever made.  Their C E Ferulic is one of the original stars in the world of antioxidants. The serum penetrates the skin more deeply than ultraviolet (UV) rays and helps to protect your skin against free radicals and accelerated signs of skin aging. Pair this product with a sunscreen that has a hint of tint and it’s a perfect replacement for heavy foundation and you have even more protection and anti-aging benefits.

A recent report published in the New England Journal of Medicine shows the image of a truck driver who never wore sunscreen and thus had a severe case of driver-side sun damage. This case highlights the fact that ultraviolet light can penetrate through windshield glass, and thus sunscreen is important even if you’re in your car or truck.

Dr. Benjamin Barankin received an award from the online website RealSelf honouring him as the Top Dermatologist in Toronto. Congratulations Dr. Barankin on this major achievement! No doubt Toronto Dermatology Centre dermatologists are the best.
