Aging-process-varies-among-peopleA study (The Changing Face of Beauty: A Global Report) of 8,000 women across 16 countries showed 74% of women make the effort to look good mainly for themselves, with partners (37%) and friends (15%) having less an influence. General “beautification” (63%) is a bigger motivator than addressing the signs of aging (50%). When defining outer beauty, skin quality and complexion (56%) are as important to women as their body shape (56%). 65% of women agree that facial fillers are more socially acceptable than they were 5 years ago. The area of the face most women are interested in enhancing is under their eyes, with 66% specifically concerned about bags under their eyes.

female mature lady office company Patient satisfaction with overall facial appearance increases by 28% with Botox injections into the frown lines according to the latest research published in the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. 57 patients were studied, and they believe they looked an average of 5.6 years younger after injection.

male-eating-chocolate A recent study published in the International Journal of Dermatology showed that dark chocolate when consumed in normal amounts for 4 weeks can exacerbate acne in male subjects with acne-prone skin. Both comedonal (blackheads & whiteheads) and inflammatory (papules, pustules) acne were made worse by eating dark chocolate. Two other recent studies showed that sweets, cake, & chocolate when consumed on a regular basis are associated with acne, and large epidemiological studies have demonstrated that milk and diets with a high glycemic index also worsen acne.
