A recent scientific article in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology has shown that consuming low-fat or skim milk (not full-fat milk) was positively associated with moderate acne among adolescents. 225 participants aged 14-19 were studied.

A large retrospective study has shown that implants and hormonal IUDs worsen acne, while combined oral contraceptives and the vaginal ring improve acne. Hormonal therapy containing drospirenone was superior to norgestimate in improving acne, both of which were superior to other hormonal therapies. Click here to read the full article.
