A recent article by renowned dermatologist Dr. Steven Feldman reviewed 16 research studies and showed that not only does acne affect your appearance, but that acne can lead to depression and low self-esteem. In a recent statement published in the journal Pediatrics by The American Academy of Pediatrics, they have called for banning tanning salon access to minors; the reason is the increased risk of skin cancer associated with tanning salon use.

In a recent research study, a special adhesive tape used to collect cells from suspicious skin lesions allowed accurate identification of localized and invasive melanomas. In the study, researchers used a patented technology to collect samples from suspicious skin lesions and sent them to the manufacturer’s lab for genetic analysis. Researchers are hoping to have this test clinically available in two years.
