A new National Psoriasis Foundation study reveals that nearly 25% of people with psoriasis have undiagnosed psoriatic arthritis.

10% of American currently use tanning beds. A study tracking 73,000 nurses found that tanning beds increased skin cancer risk for basal cell carcinoma (BCC), squamous cell carcinoma (SCC), and melanoma. Another study recently found that for every 4 visits per year to a tanning bed, the risk of BCC and SCC rose 15% and risk for melanoma rose 11%. It appears that using tanning beds in the younger age range had the strongest effect on skin cancer risk.

Drinking coffee was recently associated in the Nurses’ Health Study with a decreased risk of developing the most common skin cancer, basal cell carcinoma (BCC). In women who drank more than 3 cups of coffee per day, there was a 20% reduced risk of BCC.
