2013 American Society for Dermatologic Surgery Consumer Survey Data Released:

Very interesting data was recently released from the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS) which surveyed 6,350 people. It found that 3 in 10 people are considering a cosmetic procedure. The study also found that patients are most likely to turn to a dermatologist for their cosmetic treatments (in 9 of 10 categories). The top satisfaction ratings were for injectable wrinkle relaxers (botulinum toxins such as Botox and Dysport), as well as injectable dermal fillers such as Restylane, Perlane, Juvederm and Radiesse; the satisfaction rating for both groups was 92%.
The top 3 reasons found for consumers turning to cosmetic procedures were:
1.) I want to look as young as I feel or better for my age
2.) I want to appear more attractive
3.) I want to feel more confident.
