Medical News Today, investigators from Leeds Metropolitan University found thyme, marigold and myrrh tinctures were all beneficial in killing the P. acnes bacteria involved in acne, with thyme being the most effective. They found that thyme had even better antibacterial effects than over the counter benzoyl peroxide.
