Smoking increases likelihood of new-onset psoriasis:

In August 2011, researchers from China published in the Journal of Dermatological Science a paper showing that smoking increased an individual’s likelihood of developing psoriasis. This data has been confirmed by the U.S. experience as well, and shows an increased risk of psoriasis for both current and former smokers.
