A recent article in Men’s Journal tells us that 5.9 million botox procedures took place for women in the U.S. while 385,000 procedures occurred for men in 2013. In men, this is a surge of 200% since 2000. Just as in this article, about 10-15% of our Botox cosmetic (or “Brotox”) patients are males, and this is certainly increasing. As mentioned, men tend to require higher doses than women, and for both men and women, the procedure is quick, safe, minimal discomfort and no down time.
There were more than 9.2 million botulinum toxin (e.g. Botox) and filler treatments in 2015 in the United States, a more than 1,000 percent increase from 2000 according to a recent report. The number of lips treated with fillers grew by double digits in 2015 throughout the U.S.
