Alcohol affects development of melanoma!

A new study published in the British Journal of Dermatology has shown that drinking alcohol regularly may increase the risk of developing melanoma. Researchers from several countries looked at 6200 cases of melanoma from 16 previous studies and found that moderate to heavy alcohol use increased the risk of melanoma by 20%. Previous studies showed alcohol increasing the severity of sunburn, which is a major risk factor for all kinds of skin cancer including the very serious melanoma.
